Today we had a great day of musical adventures at camp learning about the Summer concerto of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. We learned how fun it is to draw what we are hearing in music and ended up with a great piece of class artwork! We also spent lots of time doing fun summer things like playing outside in the sun, running through the sprinklers and outdoor painting projects. After spending time outside we needed a break so we came inside for a snack and then listened to a story about Vivaldi's life. Did you know his mother wanted him to be a priest? Good thing his father encouraged him to play the violin - what would we do without the beautiful Four Seasons? After our story we made flower tambourines and then sang some fun summer songs. We are looking forward to Friday when we will focus on the Fall and Winter Concertos - it looks like we'll need them to help us cool off in this hot summer weather!
(Make sure you turn on your speakers so you can hear the music!)
